Hello lovely readers and I hope you’re all ready for a great weekend. It is probably the busiest one in the restaurant business as tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. If reading this has just reminded you, then I suggest you go shopping right now for some classic romantic dishes, perhaps lobster and maybe some oysters and a few strawberries and chocolates too for good measure!
As it’s Valentine’s weekend this week’s book is Deliciously Chocolatey by Victoria Glass. As the title suggests this book is full of amazing ideas for all ages and any occasion starting with the recipes opposite, which are two of my favourites – chocolate and whisky truffles and praline opera cake. So if you want to impress tomorrow night then get a copy of this wonderful book and whip up these sweet treats! Good luck, happy Valentine’s Day and see you all next week.

Hi and welcome to the weekend. I love Saturdays and I’m delighted that this is the first one in February – the month of love and pancakes with both Shrove Tuesday and Valentine’s Day. So let’s talk love. Yesterday we cooked lots of Valentine dishes for the San Carlo Bristol restaurant press preview, so love is definitely in the air! Today I am a guest on Livvy and Chrissie’s The Twelve O’Clock Show on BBC Radio Bristol where we might also discuss Valentine dishes.
Next week is Shrove Tuesday, so why not have a go at some great pancake recipes? I actually hold the Guinness World Record for flipping the most pancakes in a minute – 117!
This week’s book, Hungry Healthy Happy, is packed with great ideas. Author Dannii’s two dishes opposite are delicious and easy to make. If you need any pancake tips tweet me. Ciao
