Hello readers and happy Saturday. As you know, I never shy away from a challenge. Last year I gave up sugar and now I’m trying to eat vegan for the month.

MARY Berry's ultimate classics tried-and-tested by our celebrity chef, Aldi Zilli.
Welcome to December, readers! The countdown to Christmas can now begin. And it’s only three weeks until my favourite meal of the year.
Christmas in the Zilli household is a cross-continent affair; the turkey is ordered and I’ve also got my pasta made and frozen ready for the big day. This year my nephews are visiting from Italy so I’m trying to incorporate both Italian and British traditions into the day.

I’m wrapped up warm and hunting for sweet chestnuts with the kids in the little woodland next to my house. We always get loads around this time of year and we love to pick them and then make a bonfire toroast them on.
Chestnuts are a big ingredient in Italian cookery, much more so than they are here. In fact, chestnut cake is one of the traditional cakes we bake for Christmas and it is made using chestnut flour.

Hello foodies! This weekend sees the return of The Althorp Food & Drink Festival which is held at the stunning Althorp Estate in Northamptonshire – the home of Lord Spencer. I am very excited to be taking part in the event this year and you can come and see me there tomorrow where I will be doing demonstrations throughout the day.
On Monday I’ll be back down in London at the new restaurant from San Carlo – Fumo which has opened on St Martin’s Lane in Covent Garden. I’ll be cooking some of my signature dishes which are featuring on my very own specials menu. My particular favourites are risotto with lobster and black truffle and fresh tagliolini pasta with spider crab. We also have a robata grill at the new restaurant for cooking rib-eye beef.

Buongiorno my friends and readers! I hope you have time to do everything you want to do this weekend, including cooking.
It’s good to have time to prep for tomorrow’s Sunday lunch and if you have some free time, come and see me at the Ideal Home Show in London today and tomorrow.
Now moving on to this week’s book, A Simple Table by Michele Cranston, who has been cooking and styling for 25 years. Expect to find recipes for anything from Italian food to Thai food and Spanish paella, this book is very inspiring! The lamb and dessert are perfect for Easter Sunday tomorrow.

Welcome to my foodie world. This weekend is going to be a busy one, starting with a Saturday trip to my local fishmonger. I’m hoping for some nice sole and a bit of hake, as I love cooking these fish.
On Sunday I will be at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show in Birmingham showing people how to make simple barbecue dishes. So if you are there, stop by and say hello.
Now to this week’s book, which has more than 65 ways to enjoy cooking with garlic, by Jenny Linford. Garlic has been a big part of my life since I helped my mother to grow, pick and cook great dishes with it, so I was curious to see what this book contained – and I wasn’t disappointed.
It has lots of ideas on dips, snacks, meat, poultry and fish, plus pasta and bread, so well done to Jenny – it’s a very good addition to my kitchen.
Buon appetito and see you next week.

Hi and welcome to Saturday, my favourite day of the week, especially today as it’s my birthday. I won’t be cooking or shopping today but I hope my day involves great food and wine.
This week’s book has a taste of Italy and its author is from Australia, my other favourite country. One of the best chefs who has worked for me was from Australia.
Looking at this book I can’t wait to visit the Sydney restaurant Fratelli Fresh sometime and meet up with its owner Barry McDonald and the book’s co-author, food critic Terry Durack, who came to Italy with me in the good old days.
This book has the ingredients to become a classic judging by the recipes such as the tuna and the polenta cake. I wish you the best of luck with these fabulous dishes. I will be cooking them up for sure. Ciao.

Hi and a very warm welcome to my favourite day of the week!
I have decided it is going to be a meat feast at my house this weekend as I am hosting a bit of a party for friends and family. We will have lots of prosciutto, ginger-marinated melon and lots of grilled vegetables and burrata cheese from Puglia followed by a rack of lamb.
